Coconut: "Kelapa"

Coconut is a symbol of land of Manado or Northern Sulawesi. This plant can grow almost every where in Northern Sulawesi. There are many use of coconut for people of the land. Start from the roots to the leaves and fruits, coconut tree give whole part of the body to be used in many way. That is why Northern Sulawesi identifies as a land of "Nyiur Melambai" ("nyiur" is the leaf of coconut, and "melambai" is weaving).
